Illustration Friday!
Topic: Reflection.

This is my entry for this week's Illustration Friday. The topic for the week is "Reflection".

I had a lot of fun working on this week's entry. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for walruses. In fact, when I was growing up, I had a pewter walrus charm that I often wore as a necklace. I think I still have it somewhere...

Anyways... this walrus is a little vain. He has proclaimed himself the "Ice King" and it disgusts his penguin friends. Enjoy!

C&C Appreciated!

Great work. You've got the expressions just right- the tricky part.
The glasses hinged on those tiny ears really do it for that Walrus!

Did you hand draw it and scan it or did you draw it on the computer?

It's hand drawn, inked, scanned, touched up a bit and then colored in photoshop. Unfortunately, I don't have a tablet, so I don't have many options for drawing on the computer... but I prefer the feeling of pencil sketching anyways... something about coming out of a drawing covered in lead smudges is very gratifying to me. :)

I love it. Great interpretation. Nice touch with the lighter brown in his majesty's frames. :)

A very original take on the topic! And the penguin/walrus conflict adds extra pizzazz.

Thank you all for your encouraging comments! I'm glad you all liked the penguins as they are my favorites as well. I may need to do an illustration with them as the focus now... :)
